ZEITGEIST -
In the search for immortality, nature can't always be controlled |
Item will be available Summer 2006 |
Synopsis |
Dr Alex Todd, a scientist at the Paris-based company Biostructures, has developed a technique that allows limbs and organs to renew or replace themselves when they become damaged, thereby allowing the potential for immortality. Following the sudden death of her mentor, Joseph Daystrom, Biostructures is taken over by Joseph's son, Mark. Fearful of her future, Alex quietly destroys her work apart from one vial of her latest research product, disguised as insulin. But when fleeing Biostructures, she is involved in a car accident and inadvertently injected with the contents of this vial. Now, Alex has unleashed forces she cannot contain... Whilst immortality remains, for the time being, a theoretical possibility, “Zeitgeist” raises fundamental questions about the importance and value of human life, and the constant search for meaning to our existence… |
